Navigating the Diagnosis and Management of Pediatric Aortopathy

Applying the AHA Scientific Statement: Navigating the Diagnosis and Management of Pediatric Aortopathy

In August 2024, the American Heart Association (AHA) published the first comprehensive expert-consensus scientific statement on pediatric aortopathy. The statement, which was authored by a committee that included ten leadership volunteers from The Marfan Foundation, covers multiple conditions, including Marfan, Loeys-Dietz, and Vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndromes.

Join us on November 4 at 7:00 p.m. Eastern as Dr. Shaine A. Morris of Texas Children’s Hospital and Dr. Ronald Lacro of Boston Children’s Hospital discuss key takeaways from the American Heart Association’s (AHA’s) scientific statement on the cardiovascular management of aortopathy in children, including how often children should undergo imaging, which medications should be considered and when, new guidance around physical activity, and considerations for preventive aortic root replacement surgery.

This free webinar is open to community members, healthcare professionals, and researchers interested in learning more about caring for children with genetic aortic and vascular conditions. Please feel free to share the details of this event with anyone who may be interested.
