2024 CME Symposium for Physicians Coming to Puerto Rico in October
Registration is now open for Marfan, Loeys-Dietz, and VEDS Symposium 2024: The Latest on Diagnosis and Management, which will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the Royal Sonesta San Juan in Puerto Rico. This activity is sponsored by The Marfan Foundation and The Ponce Medical School Foundation, Inc. .
This educational program, which is designed for physicians, features presentations from leading experts on Marfan syndrome, Loeys-Dietz syndrome, and Vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (VEDS) from the US, including local experts from Puerto Rico. Topics include:
Marfan syndrome: Past, present, & future
Genetics/genetic testing
The eye in patients with Marfan syndrome
Diagnosis and management of spinal conditions unique to Marfan and Loeys-Dietz syndrome
Pediatric cardiac care
Approach to the patient with a dilated aortic root or ascending aorta
Role of echocardiography in Marfan syndrome and other aortopathies
The role of aortic endovascular management in patients with Marfan syndrome
Aortic surgery options
Advancements in the diagnosis and management of Marfan syndrome, Loeys-Dietz, and Vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome

There will also be case study presentations and patient perspectives.

Registration is required, but there is no cost for healthcare providers to register for this program. In addition to the lectures, attendees can connect with the individuals and families who are attending the patient meeting. Breakfast and lunch are included.
The CME course will be held in English. The patient meeting will be held in Spanish.
