Join the effort to make a difference! Help raise awareness for Loeys-Dietz Syndrome by asking your state and local government to proclaim March as Loeys-Dietz Awareness Month. This simple action can save lives by promoting early diagnosis, supporting patients and families, and educating healthcare professionals about this rare and serious condition. Together, we can foster understanding, encourage research, and create a more informed and compassionate community. Take action today—your voice matters!

HOW-TO GET LOEYS-DIETZ PROCLAMATIONS

  1. Find out to whom the request should be sent for processing. It can be your governor, city mayor, or county commissioner. Many entities now accept online requests. Our list can help, as can following up with a phone call once you have made the request.

  2. Invite the official to present the proclamation at a public event.

  3. If the governing body you are requesting the proclamation from does not have a policy limiting the number of proclamations, one may be easier to obtain. Getting an official to attend an event can be trickier, so if it doesn’t work the first year, don’t be discouraged!

  4. Not sure how to ask? Use our sample letter to send to your representative.

  5. Your representative may ask for a sample proclamation to use. If so, provide them with our sample.

  6. After your event or receipt of a proclamation, send a thank-you email or letter to the official who issued the proclamation!

  7. Email us a picture of you receiving the proclamation at an event or of the proclamation if you don’t receive it at an event (i.e. by mail). Send to brandcomms@marfan.org

THANK YOU FOR SPREADING LIFE-SAVING AWARENESS!
